The buttons never move. Same spot, every time — so little hands can learn them by heart.

  • The important words stay putI, want, more, help, yes, no, finished — the words your child needs most are always on screen, always in the same place.
  • Words grouped by everyday lifeFood, drinks, play, feelings, people, places, bathroom, and more — over 100 starter words, ready on day one.
  • Add photos of her own thingsHer cup. Her blanket. Grandma. Take a photo and it becomes a button that says its name. Real things beat clip-art, every time.
  • Back it up, move it anywhereSave a copy of the whole board and put it on any other phone or tablet. New device, lost device — her voice comes right back.

Our three promises

Simple on purpose.

You have enough hard things. Getting your child a way to talk should not be one of them.

Free forever

$0

Not a free trial. Not “free, then pay.” Free — full stop. A grid of buttons that talk should not cost $300.

No ads. No accounts.

Nothing to sign up for, no email to hand over, no ads, no in-app purchases, and nothing tracking your child. Open it and it works.

Works on the phone you have

Phone or tablet, new or old, expensive or cheap. If it runs a web browser or Android, it can give your child a voice — no special tablet required.

Download

Get Say It on your device

Two ways in — pick whichever is easier. Both are the same board, with the same words in the same places.

1Download or open it

On Android, tap the download and then tap Install. On iPhone or iPad, just open the web version.

2Pick a language

Open the parent settings and choose English, Tiếng Việt, Français, Español, Tagalog, or Українська. You can change it any time.

3Hand it over

That’s the whole setup. Your child taps, it talks. Add your own photo buttons whenever you’re ready.

For parents

Set it up in about ten minutes

You don’t need to be good with technology. If you can take a photo with your phone, you can do all of this.

1

Add photos of her own things

In the parent settings, add a button and take a photo — her cup, her snack, her favourite toy, the people she loves. Label it in your own words, in your own language. Those buttons will mean more to her than any picture we could draw.

2

Start small

You don’t have to teach the whole board. Model a few words yourself — tap “I want” + “water” at snack time, and let her watch. Kids learn this the same way they learn everything: by copying you.

3

Save a backup

In the settings, export a backup of the board and keep the file somewhere safe — your email, a USB stick, anywhere. If the device breaks or gets lost, the backup brings her exact board back on a new one in a minute.

4

Keep the language in the family’s language

If Grandma speaks Vietnamese, set the board to Vietnamese — or switch back and forth. The buttons never move, so switching languages doesn’t mean relearning the board. It’s also a gentle way to learn words in a second language.

Parent tip: lock the screen on Say It

On iPhone or iPad, turn on Guided Access (Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access), then triple-click the side button inside Say It. On Android, use Screen Pinning (Settings → Security → App Pinning). Now little hands can’t wander off into other apps — the board stays the board.

Languages

It speaks your family’s language

Most talking apps speak one or two languages — and charge extra for the privilege. Say It speaks six, including Vietnamese, which the expensive standard app doesn’t offer at all. One tap in the parent settings switches every word and the voice. The buttons stay exactly where they were.

English

English

It says“I want water”

The full board — every core word, category, and button — in clear, simple English.

Tiếng Việt

Tiếng Việt

It says“Con muốn uống nước”

Real kid Vietnamese, not stiff textbook words — “Con” for I, the way a child actually talks to family. Full accents (dấu) on every word.

Français

Français

It says« Je veux de l’eau »

Canadian French for school and home, so the board matches the words used in the classroom.

Español

Español

It says“Quiero agua”

Plain, everyday Spanish for the millions of families who need a voice in it.

Tagalog

Tagalog

It says“Gusto ko ng tubig”

Plain, everyday Tagalog — the way families actually speak at home, in the Philippines and around the world.

Українська

Українська

It says“Я хочу води”

Clear, everyday Ukrainian, written the way a child speaks to family — warm, simple, and in its own script.

🌏 In many families — and in much of the world — the phone is the only computer in the house. Say It was built phone-first for exactly that reason: a child’s voice shouldn’t have to wait until the family can afford a tablet.

Built by a family. Checked by families.

Our words start as careful drafts — but a native speaker’s ear beats any dictionary. If you speak Tiếng Việt, Tagalog, Українська, Français or Español, and one of our words sounds wrong, stiff, or too grown-up for a little kid, tell us. It takes a minute, and it helps a child somewhere find the right word.

Why Say It exists

Built by a dad who needed it to exist

No company. No investors. Just a family that ran into a wall — and a dad who decided the wall shouldn’t be there for anybody else.

“A grid of buttons that talk should be free.”

Say It was built by a dad whose daughter needed a voice. The setup the school recommended cost over a thousand dollars all-in: a $300 app, and it only ran properly on the most expensive tablet.

Then the screen broke. Then the tablet was stolen. And his daughter’s voice was just… gone, until the family could pay all over again.

So he built Say It: the same simple idea — big buttons, real words, a voice that speaks them — free, on any phone or tablet a family already owns, in the languages families actually speak at home. If it helps your kid the way it helps his, it has done its job.

Privacy policy

Your child’s information stays yours. All of it.

This page is the plain-language privacy policy for Say It. Short version: the app collects nothing. There is nothing to sell, share, or leak, because nothing ever leaves your device.

What Say It collects

Nothing. No names, no email addresses, no accounts, no location, no recordings, no usage statistics. We could not show you your child’s data if you asked — we never have it.

Where everything lives

Your child’s board — the words, the photos you add, the language you pick — is stored only on your device. The photos you take for buttons never leave the phone or tablet.

No tracking, no ads, no analytics

Say It contains:

  • No advertising of any kind
  • No analytics or tracking tools
  • No third-party trackers or data brokers
  • No in-app purchases

The voice

Say It speaks using the voice already built into your phone or tablet. Speaking a word does not send it anywhere. If your device offers voices that work offline, Say It works fully offline too — no internet needed after it’s installed.

Backups are yours

When you export a backup, the file goes where you choose to save it. We never receive a copy. Treat the backup like any family file — it contains your child’s photo buttons.

Children’s privacy

Say It is made for children, so it is built to collect no personal information from anyone — child or adult. It needs no permissions beyond what a button needs to take a photo when you add one.

Privacy policy last updated: November 6, 2026. If this policy ever changes, the change will be posted on this page — and “we collect nothing” is the promise the app was built on.

Every kid deserves a way to say it.

Download it, hand it over, and hear what she has to say.
